Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 June 2026
These terms cover using The Arcane Ledger. We've kept them readable. The most important part is about recording consent — please read that one.
1. Agreement
By using The Arcane Ledger ("the service", "we", "us") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
2. What the service is
The Arcane Ledger records tabletop game sessions and turns them into notes, recaps, character dossiers, a quest log, and the NPC Oracle. It's a tool that helps you keep track of your campaign — it assists you; it doesn't replace your judgment as a game master.
3. Your account
Keep your login secure; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Provide accurate information, and don't share your account with others.
4. Recording & consent — please read
5. Acceptable use
Don't use the service to break the law, to harm or harass others, to upload content you don't have the right to use, or to disrupt, probe, or reverse-engineer the service. Use it for your own games.
6. Your content
You own your campaigns, your notes, and your recordings. You give us the limited permission we need to store and process them so we can provide the service (for example, sending audio to be turned into text). We don't claim ownership of your content, and we don't use it to train AI models. You can export or delete your content at any time.
7. Subscriptions, billing & the free trial
- The free trial gives you a limited number of sessions, no card required. After that you choose a paid plan to keep recording. Players are always free.
- Paid plans are billed in advance (monthly or yearly) through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel any time from your billing settings; your access continues until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Each plan includes a set number of sessions per period; you can add more as described in the app.
- We may change prices, and we'll give you notice before a change affects you. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments already made are non-refundable.
8. AI-generated content
Notes, summaries, and Oracle answers are produced automatically and can be wrong or incomplete. Treat them as a helpful starting point for your game, not as fact — please review them.
9. Third-party services
The service works with third parties such as Discord, Stripe, and our speech and AI providers. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms.
10. Availability
We work hard to keep the service running, but we can't guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
12. Termination
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and tell you about significant changes. Continuing to use the service means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [your jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
